简介/INTRODUCTION

        Prof. Falk is a professor of Marine Geosciences Department Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences University of Miami. He has published 84 scientific/technical articles (including 2 on Nature and 2 on Science) and presented around 28 Funded Researches (for instance: NASA, NSF, DOE, USGS, NEHRP). He has the qualification of Professor of University of Miami (from 2011): he has taught and is still teaching at the University of Miami (Courses of: Geological Harzards, Geophysical Inverse Theory, Geology of the Galapagos volcanoes, Radar Interferometry in the Earth Sciences, Origin and Geology of the Galapagos volcanoes, Crustal Deformation, Physical Volcanology from 2004), tutoring many students for graduate and PhD theses. He is serving as Board of Directors of Unavco and a member of Science Definition Team of NISAR mission. He is a member of User Working Group of the Alaska Satellite Facility (NASA-appointed Visiting Committee) and GeoEarthScope InSAR working group. He also is the secretary of Western U.S. InSAR consortium (WinSAR). He served Panel for NASA Earth Science Division, NSF EAR (from 2013 to 2016). He served as Associate Editor of Geophysical Journal International, Chair of Western U.S. InSAR consortium (WInSAR), Chair of GEO’s Geohazard Supersite initiative, member of International Association of Geodesy (IAG) special study group "InSAR for Tectonophysics" and the Special Study Group of the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) “Spaceborne Interferometry Techniques”, Scientific committee of Conference on Ocean Island Volcanism. He organized Special Session 'Magma Chamber Dynamics' at AGU Fall meeting in San Francisco. He attended around 43 Workshops (for instance: Radar Interferometry Workshop of the European Space Agency, NASA Earth Surface and the Interior (ESI) program workshop). He was invited to lecture many times (around 46). He won E.B. Burwell Jr. Award of Geological Society of America, Engineering Geology Division (2004), Association of Engineering Geologists Publication Award (2002), SOEST Young Investigator award of University of Hawaii (1999) and Post-Doctoral Fellowships of External Research Program of European Space Agency (1997).
