Geohazards pose a significant threat to human lives and cause substantial economic and financial damage annually. The monitoring, analysis, and prediction of these hazards are crucial for effective disaster prevention and mitigation. In light of this, we are delighted to announce the 2nd International Symposium on Geo-Hazards Perception, Cognition and Prediction (ISGHPCP), to be held from October 25-28, 2024, in Changsha,    China.

Hosted by Central South University (CSU) and organized by the School of Geosciences and Info-Physics in conjunction with the Laboratory of Geo-Hazards PCP, this symposium will serve as a premier forum for experts, scholars, researchers and Ph.D students to exchange the state-of-the-arts ideas and discuss most recent advancements in geo-hazards studies and practices.

The ISGHPCP aims to bring together a diverse group of international participants, including researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and Ph.D students, to explore cutting-edge developments in understanding and predicting geo-hazards. The event will highlight interdisciplinary approaches that integrate earth sciences, geomatics, remote sensing, artificial intelligence, and data science to enhance our capacity to perceive, comprehend, and forecast geological and environmental risks.
